Gavin Astor House is situated in the Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford, Kent, which was originally formed in 1919 to provide support and care for WW1 Veterans.

life on the village

Today, the Village is a vibrant and bustling community including a large number of Armed Forces Veterans and their families. The site includes extensive amenities, including Base Camp – a community hub and cafe. We also have the Garden of Honour, our memorial garden which provides a peaceful space to remember those who have served.

the wider community

If you visit from far away, and fancy a change of scenery, the local area has plenty to offer. Find a nice pub in the pretty riverside village of Aylesford or visit local tourist attractions such as Leeds Castle and the North Downs.

a place to remember

Built to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, the Garden of Honour is a place where everyone can go to remember those who served, and still serve in our Armed Forces.
