Belinda Watson, General Manager

“our residents are at the heart of everything we do”

Belinda has worked in the direct care sector for the past 22 years and have a wide breadth of experience in operational management of Nursing, Dementia and Residential care homes within the private and charitable sectors.

She has previously worked at Registered Home Manager and Regional Manager level and gained extensive knowledge and skills in the commercial elements of care provision, as well as in commissioning new homes. Belinda has seen things from the regulatory side as well, with two spells in Local Authority Compliance. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog, as well as gardening, great food and travel.

Herve Boscher, Lifestyle & Wellbeing Manager

“let’s have some fun, get fit and make a happy home, together we are the best.”

Herve is one of the newest additions to the team at Gavin Astor House nursing home, but already he has made a positive impact on residents. Herve believes that everybody has a unique and individual lifestyle or a way of enjoying life. 

Corina Moroianu, Senior Administrator

“I know that by doing my job to the best of my abilities it makes a big difference to our Residents and staff”

Corina has been working at Gavin Astor House for 5 years now and stills enjoy coming to work every morning.

She loves working in the care sector and although doesn’t directly care for the residents of Gavin Astor House, knows that by doing her job to the best of her abilities it makes a big difference to both residents and the team. She’s a strong believer in Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI’s) organisation mission statement and I tries to live it each and every day: ‘Improving lives everyday’.

Natalie Vella, McAllister Suite Manager

“care should be individualised and person centred”

Natalie is the McAllister Suite Manager at Gavin Astor House nursing home, which involves the day to day running of 26 beds, ensuring a high standard of care for residents of varying ages with a multitude of different nursing needs.

She’s been qualified as a nurse since 2003, after studying for a diploma and degree in nursing, spending most of her career as a district nurse, with experience in wound care, falls prevention and end-of-life care. 

She believes care should be individualised and person centred, with an input from residents and families, whilst aiming to keep residents as independent as possible. High standards of care should be provided, and an open and honest approach.

Cara Randall, New Care Facilities Suite Manager

“It is a unique, vibrant, supportive homely working environment and I love coming to work everyday.”

Cara Randall has been a registered nurse for 25 years and is passionate about supporting others.

She’s been the suite manager at Gavin Astor House nursing home since October 2017 and enjoys leading an enthusiastic, dedicated, caring team.

She started working at Gavin Astor House nursing home, as a nights Registered Nurse back in 2010. After a couple of years working at Gavin Astor House, she then had a short break to become a clinical nurse specialist in stoma care but was drawn back to the home  in 2016 to become the night manager.

She loves working at the home and all it offers to both residents and the team. It is a unique, vibrant, supportive homely working environment is the reason she loves coming to work everyday.

Derrick Rodger, Lewis Suite Manager

“I believe that we should empower the individuals we support and are there to promote individual choice and respect those choices at all times.”

Derrick has been qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse since 2009, spending the majority of his career working with Older People requiring 24 hour nursing care and support.

He’s passionate about delivering this care and support in a person centred manner, putting each individual at the heart of everything he does.

It is important to him that at Gavin Astor House the values of the individuals we are entrusted to look after, treating them with dignity and respect by being aware of and supporting each person’s personal perspectives, values, beliefs and preferences.

I believe that we should empower the individual’s we support and are there to promote individual choice and respect those choices at all times.

Just because a person has moved into a nursing home doesn’t mean that the should stop living a fulfilling life and believe that we should continue to support each person to live a purposeful, meaningful and wonderful life full of joy and happiness, no matter how long somebody lives with us for.

I believe that we are creating a wonderful environment at Gavin Astor House in which we can foster and build meaningful relationship with each individual, their families and friends. I believe that Gavin Astor House is going to be not just a nursing home, but a place where people can continue to live and celebrate the beauty of their lives.

I am honoured and privileged to be part of the team striving to make Gavin Astor House a wonderful place to live.
